Myziane Maolida leaves Hertha Berlin to join Wydad Casablanca
The 27-year-old forward Myziane Maolida has found a new club. After his contract expired at Hertha Berlin, the Comoros international is joining Wydad Athletic Club from Casablanca as a free agent. The Moroccan record champions are banking on the experience of the former Bundesliga player.
Maolida played for Hertha Berlin in the Bundesliga from 2018 to 2020. The striker made 34 appearances and scored five goals. His departure as a free agent means no transfer fee for the Berliners, but the loss of an experienced offensive player.
After leaving Hertha Berlin, Maolida played for Stade de Reims in France, Hibernian in Scotland, and most recently for Al Kholood FC in Saudi Arabia. In the 2025/26 season, he made 13 appearances and scored four goals with four assists.
Wydad Casablanca hopes to sign an experienced striker with Maolida, who has played in various leagues. The 27-year-old is expected to strengthen the attack with his speed and versatility. Negotiations are still ongoing, but both sides are optimistic.
