Hertha Berlin is reportedly evaluating a swap deal with Bayern Munich, where Kennet Eichhorn would be transferred for a sum of money and Maurice Krattenmacher added to the package. The move could boost the Berlin club's finances while securing a young winger.
Journalist Wolfgang Heise reports that Bayern Munich is considering a swap to make Eichhorn cheaper. In return, Krattenmacher, currently on loan from Bayern to Hertha, would either stay or be bought outright. The 20‑year‑old winger has scored two goals and provided one assist in 21 appearances this season.
Hertha needs cash after Ibo Maza left for Leverkusen for €12 million last summer. Selling Eichhorn could fill that gap, while Krattenmacher remains a promising talent in the squad. Club director Dr. Peter Görlich confirmed talks about Krattenmacher and said a deal "might" happen.
Swap deals are rare and require both sides to agree on player values. Bayern would have to accept a lower fee for Eichhorn if Krattenmacher is included. Hertha could also earn less if other clubs offer more for Eichhorn.
Bayern Munich must decide soon whether to keep Krattenmacher, as his contract expires next year. Hertha Berlin will continue negotiations, weighing a straight sale of Eichhorn against a combined swap to achieve the best financial and sporting outcome. The coming weeks will reveal if the deal materialises or stays a rumor.
