Hertha Berlin is currently unable to train at the Olympiastadion. This has been criticized by coach Stefan Leitl (48) on Thursday at the matchday conference. Leitl said: "It would have been nice if we could have trained there too. Unfortunately, this is not possible for us. It seems to be difficult to find times when Hertha can train there." A clear criticism of the Olympiastadion Berlin GmbH - which does not want to accept this accusation.
Stadium chief Timo Rohwedder says: "We don't understand the excitement of the coach. The request from Hertha BSC came very short-term, and our greenkeeper was unfortunately too late to be included in the planning. On Monday, the pitch was still in full pre-season preparation with planned aeration (airing of the grass - ed.), rolling and subsequent lining and so on. That we offer Hertha training is self-evident. We immediately suggested two other days, which apparently did not fit into the training plan." Rohwedder further: "Hertha has also admitted internally that they were too late with the planning. That the coach then complains in the press about lacking opportunities, we consider unnecessary." ## Why it matters for Hertha Berlin
For next year, it has already been discussed with the team management to settle everything earlier. On the previous Thursday, Leitl had not spared himself from at least running over the pitch with his players in sneakers and inspecting the cabins - to get a taste of the stadium atmosphere in the run-up to the match on Saturday. Gustav Christensen is currently injured.
